| Cyrene and Natalie came up golden at Alki. |
Natalie and Cyrene got together to celebrate Natalies 15th birthday in an unconventional way on Sunday. They won not the U16, not the U18 but the collegiate (U20) division of the first tournament of 2014 at Alki beach. The team won back to back three set matches in the semifinals and finals as they worked through some early season rust to claim the title. They will be amongst the top contenders to win the bid to the USA Volleyball High Performance Championship when they play in the qualifier at Bottega Fitness on June 14.
Congratulations are also due to Maya and Kelly and Nichole and Lauren who both qualified for the gold bracket of the very large 16s division. Although their days didn't finish up golden, both teams showed a commitment to playing the quality of volleyball that is going to make them contenders in every event they compete in for the rest of the year.
Keep up the great work ladies, this is going to be a great summer in the sand.
